Blitz TurboScratcher
My wife and I were in Florida a few years ago and we were souvenir shopping when we saw the Blitz TurboScratcher. It wasn't long till my wife convinced me that we needed to bring our indoor cat Bootsie a souvenir too. So after spending about $15 for we brought it home for our sweet little Bootsie.
It is light blue in color and measures about 15 inches across. This is a round piece made out of a durable plastic. In the center measuring 11 inches across is a piece of cardboard that has a lot of little holes in it. In these little holes my wife will place some catnip in it. On the outside of the cardboard part to the end of the Blitz TurboScratcher is a groove that is about 2 inches wide and in the groove is a hard red plastic ball.
The Purpose of the Blitz TurboScratcher
The Blitz TurboScratcher is like an amusement park for Bootsie, he runs up to it and scratches his front paws on the cardboard part like a scratching post flat on the floor. Then he will take a front paw and hit the little ball to make it go around and around.
Not only does the Blitz TurboScratcher give them some amusement, it also gives them some exercise. If your cat has claws it might keep them from scratching on your furniture.
Bootsie and the Blitz TurboScratcher
Bootsie is a Norwegian Forest Cat with long beautiful soft hair, he had the colors of a panda bear of black and white. He is a unique cat that is different from any cat I have ever seen, he is a loving cat when he wants the loving and not when you want to give it to him. He is twelve years old this year and is considered part of the family, "He's the Boss."
We keep the Blitz TurboScratcher in the room that I have my computer in so, when he wants my attention to play he will run to the TurboScratcher and start knocking the ball in a circle to get my attention. Then I look over at him and he has that sweet face that is looking at me saying, come on it's time to play.
Now when he wants to just get a little "High" from the catnip he will start to scratch on the pad and then roll on top of it. Yes he actually looks like he is drunk.
Now there is time where he comes in the room and starts to scratch on the pad and walk away, letting me know he is in the room and happy that I am in there with him.
Overall
We have had the Blitz TurboScratcher about five years now and we have never replaced the cardboard piece. I know you can buy a replacement for it but, why when it still looks good and we just add a little catnip to it ourselves. (I believe the cardboard piece is still in good shape because our little Bootsie is de-clawed.)
The Blitz TurboScratcher has been the longest lasting toy that we have ever bought Bootsie and it is a toy that gets my attention. My wife and I get a lot of enjoyment out of watching Bootsie using the TurboScratcher.
I highly recommend the Blitz TurboScratcher.
