Be skeptical of Amazon. You may be tricked into paying shipping for their merchants.

BE VERY CAREFUL when you buy from Amazon.
I found a microwave from dealtime.com, and Amazon claims no tax and shipping with lowest total cost. When I get into amazon site, and click 1-click button. Without giving me any chance to review the order, my order was sent to their merchant, which next morning (1/23/06) sent me a confirmation and charged me $26.24 for shipping. I immediately contacted them and wanted to cancel the order. They refuse to do so claiming the order is already shipped out. That is the lie because the confirmation said it will ship out on 25th. They asked me to send them an email explaining the situation and they will take care of the shipping. They never reply the email, and there is no invoice in the shipping box. I found from my credit card charge that they charged me $26.24 shipping anyway (I finally get my money back after file a bad review of their service).
So my advice is if the products are available elsewhere, avoiding order from amazon. It is mainly Amazon to blame in this incidence. Their website presents the information in a very confusing way, and you will be easily tricked into buying from their merchants and pay hefty shipping fee. Especially never use their 1-click function because it did not give you any chance to review your order including the tax and shipping charge. After you are tricked into their merchants and found out later that you have to pay hefty shipping, Amazon is not responsible and will not do anything to help you out (this is basically what they said in response to my email complain). On the other hand, the merchants is not going to remove the shipping or cancel the order because it is their policy to charge you shipping. So you were stuck in the middle and have no choice except paying the shipping which you did not intend to pay when you placed the order with Amazon.
