2005 Mustang Gets Noticed Where Ever You Go.

Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Retro 60 look. People want to see the car and talk about it.
Cons: Not happy with interior looks cheap could be better.
The Bottom Line: If your like mustangs this is a good car and has the looks. It just takes some getting used to but should be fine for most people.

I drove the 2005 Mustang for a week. I rented the car to go to Indy for the 500. I tried getting a hard top mustang but all where gone and they gave me the new 2005 mustang convertible for the same price. Oh well you have to rough it some times.

The car had 1,000 miles on it and would have over 2,415 when i dropped it off. Right off the bat you will notice that people will come over and ask how you like the car. Mustangs have a way of doing that.

The ride is good for a sports car. Being so new it was still a little stiff not broken in yet. Very little noise inside and i imagine the hard top is better than convertible as far as noise goes. Handles very good and comfortable ride. I would not take one on a 500 mile ride again but a few hundred miles no problem.

The car came with the v6 motor but had plenty of power. I have owned 1967 and 1984 and 1997 mustangs some with the v8 and some with the v6. The v6 in this car has very good power and will get you up to speed more than fast enough.

Styling is classic 1967 fast back. The interior reminds me of the sixties also. The outside of the car is very well done. Has the look you would expect from a mustang and many options to dress it up. The interior was plain. Not what i expected. I was looking for the 90 mustangs look of 2 tone and some color inside not all black with some chrome.

Space inside is good. Back seat is small and should only be used for short trips at the most. Trunk is good size for mustang. All the controls are normal no new frills just simple easy to use. I did seem to think that the console in the middle was higher than normal and so was the dash. Might just be me but makes you feel lower than you are.

Mileage was good around 18 to 22 on highway and 65 or more for speed. Brakes work very well can stop better than most cars on the road. Tires will depend on the model. I would have to say most will be $140 or more a tire. The radio sounds good not top of the line but works fine.

Somethings that took me a while to get used to where no trunk release inside of car. The shifter for automatic transmission was different. Not sure how maybe higher took me a little while to get comfortable with it. The interior is black plastic and some of it looks ok but some looks cheap. Back window was small and hard to see out of. I know hard top would be better but i think it still will be small.

I enjoyed driving it for 1 week. The mustang is alot of fun. I do not know if i would buy one. I like the car and the fact people want to talk to you about it. That is always fun. I just never got comfortable with it. I guess i will have drive it for another week and see.
