Batten down the hatches; it's Christmas shopping time again. Ever since I was on bedrest during Christmas shopping season with my first child and discovered the joy of not having to deal with actual people except my beloved UPS and FedEx men by using online shopping, I have done the majority of my holiday gift-buying online.
Today's arrival was a large box from the Old Navy Online Store carrying gifts for my niece and nephews and coats for my sons.
::: About Old Navy :::
On the off chance you might have absolutely no idea, Gap, Inc. owns the Gap stores (Gap, Baby Gap, Gap Body), Banana Republic, and the lower-end Old Navy. They are known mainly for Gap-style prices at lower prices, $5 holiday t-shirts, and quirky commercials starring people you probably haven't seen in 20 years.
::: The Online Version :::
The Old Navy Online Store maintains the same quirkiness as the commercials with a retro feel. The splash page always contains a link to the Sunday ad with the Item of the Week so it's never difficult to find out what's on sale.
The online store is broken up into shopping categories of Men, Women, Women's Plus, Maternity (only available online), Boys, Girls, Baby Boys, and Baby Girls. Once you select a category, shopping is made even easier with specific categories such as What's New, Pants, Jeans, T-shirts, etc. Links to the appropriate Item of the Week as well as a clearance section and Old Navy gift cards are provided in each section.
Unlike a lot of other larger retailers, there are only two options for shipping: Standard and Rush. Standard delivery is four to seven business days, and Rush is next day, providing the order is received by 12 PM Eastern Time. Shipping costs are charged based on order total, with Rush shipping costing an additional $9.00, and shipping to multiple addresses an additional $3.00 per additional address. The Old Navy Online Store chooses the carrier depending on cost and convenience, so your order might arrive via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Often, however, the Old Navy Online Store will run a promotion offering free shipping with an online purchase of a certain dollar amount.
What they lack in shipping choice, they make up for in payment options. Payment can be made via Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB Card, Old Navy Card, Gap Card, or Banana Republic Card. Gift cards can also be used online.

I placed my order on Thursday afternoon, not long after I ordered my daughter's Boston Red Sox jersey from another online store. I received an order confirmation immediately upon completing my order, which included a note that I would receive another email when my order shipped.
Early Sunday morning (3:29 AM), I received another email letting me know that my order had shipped via USPS. It again showed all my items, the total, and also reflected the free shipping discount.
Lo and behold, my mailman came to my door today with a large box containing my entire order: two dress coats for my sons, as well as the outfits I got for my niece and nephew for Christmas. All the items were individually bagged, and not only was a gift receipt included, but also a return label. If you are returning items, the Old Navy Online Store will deduct $5.00 from your total refund for shipping, but exchanges come with free shipping.

I've ordered from the Old Navy Online Store before, and I'm sure to do so again. I was especially impressed with the dress coats for my sons. While Old Navy clothes aren't always the sturdiest (but after all, how many kids wear out their clothes before they outgrow them?), the coats were thick, had a quilted lining, and cost me under $20.00 each. With quick shipping and low price, the Old Navy Online Store can't be beat.
