I love Amazon! I have their Visa, so that I can earn reward points and get free merchandise. Most of the time I get free delivery because the merchandise I order qualifies for their free delivery. The prices are good on most merchandise, very comparable to other online merchants, and when you consider the free delivery, it's a bargain. I also like that I can track my packages. Most items I've ordered, when they're coming from Amazon, are delivered within a week, usually more quickly. Amazon does have other online partners, which have varying delivery times. Amazon has almost any type of merchandise available for purchase from the main store or from Amazon partners. You can buy books, electronics, toys and games, baby items, clothing, home furnishings, jewelry, handbags, magazines, sporting goods, etc. etc. etc. They accept all major credit cards. Another feature which Amazon offers is buying used items, much like on Ebay, but without the auction. I've found that the items arrived as describe, usually in the condition describe, but delivery time can be somewhat slow depending on the seller. I just waited a little over 2 weeks for a book, which is a lengthy time considering most merchants can get the item to you in less than a week. Amazon has so much merchandise available, and it seems that they're adding more all the time.
The one downside to Amazon is that if you don't like what you've ordered, you have to ship it back. I have found that with some items it just makes more sense to find locally. I purchased a small vacuum on Amazon, and when it didn't do the job, I had to ship it back. They offered a shipping label, but I found that I paid way more for that than if I'd just taken it to the post office and paid the postage myself. Amazon will pay return postage for items they send in error, which is the policy of most online stores. That experience was enough of a hassle that I wouldn't order an item unless I was sure I wouldn't be returning it, but after all, that's the same with all online purchases.
