Amazon Not the Fastest or the Brightest

What can I say? Amazon employees don't seem to be too bright. Teaming up with Toys R Us may not help.
Purchase an item, it arrives. Right? Not with Amazon. Not Amazon today. The Amazon of the early days, yes.
Leia in Boushh gear was ordered. Free shipping. Email sent, stating item would be shipped. Another email arrived because card was declined. (Tip for online shopping: Dont use the zip+4. Use only the first 5 digits. You'll have less errors, if your +4 ever changes).
Problem was solved. Zip changed, item was ready for shipment.
New problem: There was a delay in shipment. 5 day delay-- which would have been longer, had an inquiry not been made.
Problem: Try reaching Amazon via phone. You can't anymore. Not easily, anyway.
Problem: If you do find their number, you still cant get through to an operator.
Problem solved. A couple days later, an email was received.
The Customer service rep. activated the order. (Btw, a second order had been placed since the first order. Also "delayed"). The rep noticed BOTH orders. Activated both. As a "token of apology" the rep shipped the first order 2nd day air. A nice, but, very uneccesary gesture. (From the company's standpoint, the two orders should have been combined into one shipment for an extra $2. Also, due to distance, 2nd day air was no faster than ground, so, Amazon paid an extra $6 for nothing; on top of the extra $5-6 to send a second package).
Is that the end? Sadly, no. The card was charged for the "free upgrade". Refund is still pending, over a week later.
The end? Not yet. The items arrived. One forced into a box not quite up to holding the collectible figures. The other, in a box too big, it bounced around.
Items arrived in less than desirable condition.
But, the price was not bad.
The good: Amazon is retail priced. In this case, the price was good. $10 below the Toys R Us shelf price. Email support is relatively fast. Amazon did try to appease.
The bad: Unexplained delay (when items are in stock); charged for "free shipping upgrade". No phone support. Phone support could have sped up the process.
The ugly: The packing is horrendous.
