Kidnykid's Full Review: Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie''s plot.
Will Ferrell portrays anchorman Ron Burgundy, at a time when men ruled the roost in the newsroom. Along comes female reporter Veronica Corningstone, eager to become an anchorwoman herself. The usual group of hijinks ensue, to the hilarity of the audience with whom I saw this film.
Believe it or not, Ferrell was not the best thing in this film to me. The voiceover narration, provided by Bill Kurtis of American Justice fame, was something of an inside joke for those of us old enough to remember when Kurtis himself was a Chicago anchorman.
Some portions of this film, particularly at the beginning, may be offensive. After all, during the time period in which this movie is set, people were just getting used to the idea of women doing some of the same things men do in the workplace. I also found some of the sexual content somewhat offensive. However, these are relatively minor quibbles, in my opinion.
This movie would be best for those who like their comedy frank, and are not easily offended.
