Any company is good as long as things go right. It is when bad things happen that we truly learn what a company is all about. I will never buy another THING from Barnes and Noble!!!
I bought an out of print book through Barnes and Noble which was advertised as fine or like new. As offered within the purchase, I opted for fast delivery. The sender charged me for the fast delivery, then sent it 4th class. Three weeks later it arrived, damaged because of the sender's failure to properly package it. So the sender supposedly refunded the $2.00 fast ship charge, but now the cost of the remaining books for sale, if any, is higher. Now Barnes and Noble wants me to mail it back via UPS (why didn't the sender use UPS?) at my expense. They offered me a small gift certificate good only at Barnes and Noble (like I'll shop there again), but no credit for my expenses. Three times I have tried to get a real response, and all I get is a form response.
If they cared about their customers, they would be sure that their representatives also cared. It is obvious that they care only about the customer's money.
