| krissingene's Full Review: Carter's Just One Year Snap Front Creeper |
Even before my daughter was born, I became obsessed with all things Carter's. Their products, as I observed them, captured the essence of all things babyhood: soft colors, adorable prints and fuzzy animals. Add to that the simplicity of most of their clothing and the quality synonymous with the Carter's name, and I had a preferred brand even before beginning to shop.
A Very Carter's Nursery
My love of Carter's clothing didn't go unnoticed by family and friends, and I received a ton of adorable onesies, sleepers, creepers, blankets and other Carter's items at baby showers. Although we hadn't planned it that way, even our nursery linen bore the Carter's name in the end...
Among the myriad assortment of the company's clothing that quickly became a favorite was the Just One Year Snap Front Creeper. Not knowing the gender of our baby at the time of our shower, we were given a butter yellow creeper with a fuzzy brown bear peeking out from the snap opening, an embroidered duckling over one leg, and the Carter's logo patch on the left chest. Made of 100% cotton, the creeper has a soft, fuzzy feel that makes it practically irresistible - and even more so with a sweet, wiggly baby inside!
Getting Dressed
Woe is me whenever an outfit requires being pulled over my daughter's head - the indignity of such treatment is simply too much for her to bear. Thus the snap-front creeper became a lifesaver for Mommy and baby both; with five snaps in front and a three snap onesie-like closure at the bottom, this creeper makes getting dressed and changing diapers a snap - literally.
Short-sleeved with double-stitched hems on the collar, sleeves and leg bands, the snap front creeper greatly resembles a basic onesie, but it's thicker fabric and sturdier design allow this creeper to be worn alone as a sweet spring or summer outfit.
Durability
Okay, so my daughter is a bit young still to fully test the durability of any garment; her day consists primarily of eat, sleep, cry and wet. Recently, though, she's added a new trick to her repertoire: drool. Therefore, this creeper has been thoroughly drooled on, spit up on a time or two, washed numerous times and handled constantly - yet looks as good as the first time I saw it. The fabric hasn't faded, thinned, or even pilled much in the manner that cotton usually does after repeated washing and drying. Even the fuzzy teddy bear applique has retained its fuzziness and not become matted as one might expect.
The Next Step?
My only complaint is that, as of this moment, we only have *one* of these creepers in the baby's closet. She's growing much too quickly, as babies tend to do, and it won't fit much longer - so I will definitely be on a mission to find more of these creepers in a larger size.
