Excellent experience for last 2 yrs

I have bought several books, DVD's, computer software CD's, and Plantronics headset from Amazon. I've spent very close to $1,000 at Amazon in the last two years or so. Without exception they have delivered what I ordered in excellent condition either on time or sooner than promised. I have used customer service once. That was to request free shipping for an item which I had neglected to add to a larger order which had qualified for free shipping. Although they were not obligated to do it, they gave me the free shipping.
I have had excellent experiences with their website. The site features a good search engine, good browsing by category, and a much appreciated preview of books which allows you to read some pages of the book and to get a look at the front, back, index, and sometimes other parts of the book.
I also appreciate the customized shopping experience that they provide. (Although some may complain about spyware, cookies, or generally loss of privacy, I come from a generation that used to complain about being treated "like a number"; yeah, I'm an old guy.) The site remembers your name and suggests items that may be of interest to you based upon your prior purchases and based upon the purchases of other people who have bought items similar to the ones that you have looked at previously.
Their prices are also very good. They are better than all but those of the most obscure web sites or used book / software dealers.
Their shipping rates are reasonable, and they frequently have deals that feature free shipping.
All in all, I am delighted with Amazon.com, and I will certainly use their services again. I wish that I could think of a complaint about their service that would make my comments a bit more balanced, but I have had uniformly excellent experiences with them. I am sure that some day I'll experience what one of the other reviewers mentioned, and UPS will deliver my package late or I'll fail to follow one of Amazon's policies, and I'll be disappointed. (But I don't think that I would blame Amazon for such things because they're beyond Amazon's control, and they are therefore irrelevant to the question of how well Amazon is likely to treat me in the future.)
