I had to write this review because I feel that the "top review" is wrong. I will start by saying that I joined Amazon.com about 3 or 4 years ago. Things went well. The orders seem to get in very fast, I got confirmation quickly, and the items were shipped promtly. I recently spent some birthday cash at Amazon.com. I was scared that I hadn't been shopping there for so long, that I would find out that they were tooo big and tooo slow on getting the orders to the customer. I was really worried because of the REVIEWS I read HERE. I knew that in my past experience they were awesome, but I wasn't sure if things had changed.
So I ordered 3 cds from Amazon on Feb 12th. Right after I orddered the items, I recieved the confirmation email. The estimated shipping date was Feb. 16th. My items were shipped on Feb. 14th. Estimated delivery date was Feb 18-20th. the items were delivered to me at my house on Feb. 17th. This is very good, very promt. (i had a weekend in between the order date and shipping shipping date, and I still got my items promtly.)
Another thing I wanted to touch on is the shipping. I spent $54 so I got free shipping.(I think anything over $25 is free shipping.) I didn't have to pay a dime for my shipping. It was standard 3-7 days shipping. No special priority mail or anything like that. Not only was my shipping FREE> the packaging for my items was excellent. The items were enclosed in bubble wrap, like a package. Not wrapped and tapped it is like they put the items in a bubble wrap package. the items were very secure, and unharmed. I know that reading this you are thinking "yeah ok whatever she is only talking about cds" Yes it was only cds, but if they take such great care in shipping cds, they will ship everything with great care and excellent workmanship.
The one and only difference that I have noticed since I first joined Amazon.com is that they used to use the Postal Service, but are now using UPS.
I am very happy and satisfied with my products and the time it took to get them. I really feel that Amazon.com is not "too big" I think they are doing a great job dealing with the MOnster number of orders that they get daily. I am sure it isn't easy for that company to stay on top of everything that they need to, to stay customer friendly. (and to keep the customers 100% satisfied.)
