| Mom2TyZick's Full Review: Carter's Just One Year Cuffed Pant |
Most moms know one thing: clothing a child is expensive. Everyone tells me that I've only just begun, that they get so picky when they grow up, so I'd better enjoy it while I can. After folding a mountain of tiny baby clothes this morning, I contemplated how many clothing changes my little girl goes through in a day. When I stopped feeling sorry for myself, I realized that I have to formulate a plan for the next size clothing purchases.
Once your baby begins to be mobile, you'll need to find her a good pair of pants to wear over those onesies we all love. This is because their precious knees will constantly be in contact with the floor (duh!) which makes my baby's knees red and dry. Now, just wearing pants won't completely prevent this, but it does help.
I have 3 different classifications of baby clothes. In the first class we have "going out" clothing. These are nice outfits that I would consider taking my baby to anywhere from a wedding (cute little dress) to a playdate (comfy, but matches). My second classification of clothes is the "lounging" outfits. These are for when we are staying in all day. They are comfy, light and can be washed often. The third classification should come as no surprise; it is sleepwear. Sometimes we never actually make it out of those during the day, but typically these are only worn at night. These Carter's pants fall under the second classification.
These pants come in a variety of sizes and colors. Available are S, M, and L which roughly equals 0-3 months (8 - 12 lb.), 3-6 months (12-18 lb.) and 6-9 months (19-21 lb.). Carter's also runs bigger than some of your lesser quality garments, so your baby can wear these pants longer.
I have also seen these pants in 3 different colors, not just the blue. In fact, my daughter has two pair in pink and they also come in yellow. I like the fact they come in solid colors, as it is easy to pair up with many shirts in any pattern.
What's really nice about these little pants is that they have a nice little cuff at the bottom so they hold tight to little ankles. Active babies sometimes get hung up when their foot goes up into a regular pants leg. This cuff prevents the pant from coming below the ankle, yet is not tight enough to cut off the circulation. I've also been successful at pulling them on over crib shoes.
Carter's Just One Year cuffed pants are made from 100% cotton. Never worry about them, simply throw them in the washer and dryer and they are ready for another day of crawling. Also, they hold their shape well, not like some of the cheaper brands I've bought that stretch out of shape with a hard day and never go back to a decent size after laundering.
I know that brand name isn't everything, but I've never had a miss yet with Carter's children's wear. It is soft, durable and looks great.
