I have placed two orders with Barnes&Noble.com, the first in 2002 went fine, but my recent holiday order was another story. I ordered 2 cds that qualified for "faster delivery", and a DVD that "usually ships within 24 hours". I placed the order on December 15th, just in time for Christmas delivery, according to the site. Christmas came and went, and my order didn't. Depending on whether I went to the "Track and confirm" site, or DropShip Express site, the order arrived for shipping on the 19th or 20th. (Barnes and Noble said it shipped on the 16th.) My order finally arrived on New Year's Eve. I have gotten no satisfactory answer as to why it took ELEVEN business days, even though they insist it was 3-8 days via the shipping method I used. I was lead to believe by the text on the site that free, standard shipping would get me my order on time. No matter how many times they say it got there in 3-8 days, it didn't; regardless, it was supposed to arrive before December 25th. I would be over it by now if it wasn't for the fact that they refuse to admit they simply promised something they couldn't deliver.
I would also very much like to know from them why they shipped my order to NJ from Memphis, when there are Barnes and Noble stores all over the Northeast, and these were in-stock items I could have picked up anywhere. They totally ignored that part of my email.
