Everyone knows about Amazon.com. And they sell everything there is to sell. I have been shopping at Amazon for many years now and have a love/hate relationship with them.
Amazon prices are good. Over the years, and specially after they began offering free shipping on orders of over $25, delivery times have become longer. But I do not really find that as much of a problem. I have learned to factor that in.
My biggest complaint is about their rebates and promotions. Now, I am one of those persons who tracks outstanding rebates in Outlook. About 8 or 10 weeks ago, I bought a bunch of things totaling to $260+ and they were running a promotion of $10 rebate for every $50 purchase if total exceeded $250. I was looking forward to this rebate since there was something that I wanted to buy out of that one. Of course, rebate never arrived until several emails later, when I got a gift certificate of $20.
This is an illegal, unethical and sleazy business practice. But I have no recourse since Amazon conveniently does not put any rebate-related information in the order confirmation email. And if the promotion expired by the time the rebate arrives a couple of months later, the customer has no way to track back.
I think Amazon should do business honestly and change this practice.
