Amazon.com does not care about it's customers with problems.

I have been ordering from Amazon.com for around 5 years now and have always been satisfied with their service until recently. I am wondering if this is because I have never had a problem with my order before. I really like the large selection that is available at Amazon. I am satisfied with the delivery options that are available at Amazon. I am very unsatisfied with the current level of customer service at Amazon.com
My problem was that my order was placed I feel through a computer glitch. I had entered my order and credit card information and was on the ordering screen that showed me what the tax and shipping and handling charges were to be. I used my browser's back arrow button to go back to change the shipping address of the order when an error message appeared on the screen saying that an error has occurred and that I would have to log back in. I logged back in only to discover that my order was placed.
So, then I searched and searched for the customer service phone number so that I could contact Amazon immediately to notify them of this error. I discovered that there is no phone number for Amazon on their website. I did a search on Google and luckily found it posted by other disgruntled consumers. I called customer service and sorted through the automated options until I finally contacted a human. Before she would talk to me about my order, I had to log back into their website and reenter my name because they did not have that on file. Then I had to tell her what my last order placed with them contained. The last order I placed with them was from Christmas 2002, so I told her what I thought I ordered from them. I was told that I was wrong and she was going to wait until I thought of something. Well, I said this is ridiculous and can we please talk about my current order with which I have a problem. I was reprimanded for using my browser's arrow keys and told that they are unable to change any order once it was placed. I explained that at no time did I submit my order and that the order was being shipped to the wrong address. There was no way that she could change the order. My only option was to refuse delivery of the packages when they were delivered.
About 1 week later the UPS truck pulled into my driveway and I told the driver that I did not want either package, he wrote refused on them, and back they went to Amazon. The one package was refunded in full and the second package was only partially refunded because Amazon.com said that I used a computer generated return label. So, once again I called customer service and had them check their records. They discovered their error and fully refunded the shipping and handling charges.
During this whole process, I felt very unhappy with Amazon.com. The customer service representative told me that they do not have their phone number listed because they do not want customers to call them, they prefer email. I have decided that I will no longer order from Amazon.com because I feel that they offer their customers essentially no service. Amazon should be able to help you out no only when you place correct order but also when you place an incorrect one.
