Pros: proven technology and reliabilty Cons: The design's in its last year, and getting a little long in the tooth The Bottom Line: Honda's 2006 CR-V is the last year for a design that's proven reliable, durable, and fun to own.
There's plenty of evidence that the popularity of ever-larger SUVs in the USA is on the wane. When Katrina-driven gas price increases failed to go back down last fall, most automakers reported falling sales of their largest models (e.g. the Chevy ...

Pros: Reliability, handling, interior design and layout Cons: Gas tank capacity, road noise The Bottom Line: If you need a vehicle with a lot of utility, but don't want the high cost of running a V-6 or V-8 engine, this is the vehicle for you.
This is my fourth Honda, and I have to say I like this one the best. We were looking for a second car, and we decided to get a small SUV so that we have two cars with different capabilities. It came down to the CR-V and the RAV4. Two factors led me ...

Pros: The combination of price, versatility, fuel economy, safety, attractiveness cannot be beat. Cons: Some quirky controls as described below, no audio steering wheel controls. The Bottom Line: If safety and price are primary concerns, you cannot find a more attractive vehicle.
6/8/07 Update: After owning this vehicle for over 1 year, I can testify that the value is truly evident in its versatility. Used mainly in city driving, we are getting about 20 mpg, not bad for an all wheel drive vehicle. Consider this vehicle for a ...

Pros: Safety, Interior space, Price, Turning radius Cons: Assembling Quality, Road noise, Design problems The Bottom Line: The car is OK for the money. Hope it hold for 5-6 years.
Im from Russia originally. Please, forgive my English if you find it to be not the greatest. 1. Quality. Not what I have expected from Honda. Rear folding seat had a stuck latch, so I had to push the damn seat with my legs in a Lowe's parking lot ...

Pros: You have to love AWD, ABS and the safety rating. Cons: Road noise, fixed with undercoating The Bottom Line: This is a awesome vehicle.
I recently purchased a 2006 CRV SE. I did research on the CRV as well as the RAV4. The crash results and safety rating of the CRV as well as its looks sold me. Taking the vehicle for a test drive proved very interesting. The ABS brakes are impressive. No ...

Pros: space, handling, gas mileage, no blind spots, styling Cons: road noise, back seats don't fold flat, slow acceleration The Bottom Line: If you want the space of an SUV with the driving experience of a compact this is the car for you!
I got the lowest trim level CRV and I think the only option I regret not having (my good friend has one with a higher trim level so I've had plenty of time to compare!) is the stereo controls on the steering wheel - otherwise I love my CRV! Plenty of ...

Pros: Fit and finish, quiet engine, excellent transmission. Cons: Fuel economy isn't too bad, but not great (around 22-24 mpg) The Bottom Line: I didn't think that I could fall in love with a crossover suv but this one proved me wrong.
This is my girlfriend's car, she bought a new 2006 CRV EX last summer and I drive it whenever I can because I love it so much. Now I normally don't like to drive automatic transmission cars but this CRV has a very refined five speed automatic ...

Pros: Drives smooth and has had no mechanical problems. Cons: No third row. The Bottom Line: Great purchase for the price! Nice, smooth ride and roomy enough for a family of four.
We have two children and really wanted an SUV/wagon for getting around with the kids, their car seats and all their stuff they take with them. We originally looked at the Pilot, which we loved. Yet, we were upside down in our Trailblazer that we owned ...

Pros: comfortable, AC cools immediately, decent gas mileage, great storage room, numerous cup holders, great pick-up Cons: The look of the radio could be better, gear shaft position is awkward The Bottom Line: Look no further than the 06 Honda CRV! I wish I would have gotten the 4WD! This car is great.
I bought my 06 Honda CRV 2WD 4 months ago and this weekend was the first time I used the SUV for more than commuting. It was an awesome vehicle to have camping. There was more than enough room for our camping gear and we got to use the picnic table and ...

Pros: Handling, boxy, useful storage, sporty front seats, decent sound system, optional picnic table. Cons: Uncomfortable rear seat, disappointing mileage, somewhat noisy ride, virtually no rear bumper. The Bottom Line: Should be a fine, reliable, practical, and fun purchase on the used car market, especially if bigger passengers won't regularly be in rear seats.
We really are enjoying our '96 CR-V. We bought it for it's relatively affordable price, practical and visually appealing design features, and of course, the Honda brand and generally good past experiences with Honda. Pluses include tawt (sp?)and precise ...

I received my 2006 Honda CRV EX 4wd with the 5 speed automatic transmission for a graduation present from my mother. It was brand new when I received it, having less than 200 miles on it. I have since put about 12,000 miles on my CRV. Currently I average ...

I sold my 2003 Honda Civic LX to upgrade to the 2006 Honda CR-V because I needed more space for my new baby and I am glad that I did. This SUV is not BIG but has plenty of room. Second row seats folds down easily so I feel like I have a 4X4 truck at ...

Pros: Nice handling, style, interior layout Cons: blind spots, fuel economy not what I expected
Well maybe not, I was either going to get a Ford Escape (2006)or the Honda CRV (2006, well I chose the later, and I'm having alot of guilt.....I am a strong believer in buying American and I have researched both vehicles and they both run about neck and neck.........I test drove both and I must say I liked the way the CRV felt. I do agree with the blind spots though, drives me nuts! Also I agree fuel economy isn't as good as I would have believed. This is my first new car in 15 years, so I'm hoping it lasts about that long. I am happy but I do believe either the Ford Escape or the CRV would have made me that way......so choosing either I think is a very safe bet for a small SUV.

Pros: great engine, good acceleration, easy handling and the real-time AWD is wonderful in snow. Cons: not great for grocery shopping, noisy cabin, rear seats could fold down more flatly.
I find the 2006 HONDA CRV to be very well put together "mechanically" and the engine is quite smooth and torqued beautifully to get you off the mark. But peripherals could be better designed. I find the glove compartment very small, just about enough room to fit their manuals but nothing else more. The coffee cup table between the driver and passenger side is useless. It would have been better to place a tide in net basket for holding small shopping items. Also they should have placed a net arrangement for the same in the back instead of having all your stuff roll around and knocking at the sides every time you turn. The cabin is also noisy as I heard that most HONDA vehicles have this characteristic. Maybe its only in Canada, but just having a black interior (most models) for 2006 perhaps should have been in grey, black is hard to keep clean. Rear seats should fold down better when hauling larger items in the back.
